Responsibilities.

• Take initial project responsibility for marking out sites, applying designs and plans and checking that drawings and quantities are accurate for the work.
• Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plant for use in the construction.
• Suggest and implement cost-effective solutions and proposals for the project(s).
• Plan and organise the work, plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed timescales and deadlines.
• Undertake or organise the continuous snagging of work on site, arranging for appropriate action and works to be taken.
• Manage the Permit to Work systems.
• Act as the focal point for unexpected technical difficulties and other problems, ensuring that they are resolved in a timely manner in order to avoid any delay to the project.
• Liaise and communicate on a regular basis and as required for the smooth operation of the project, to include
• project manager
• site manager
• clients and their representatives
• consultants, planners, quantity surveyors etc.
• sub-contractors.
• the supervisors and workforce involved in the project.
• Monitor project progress to establish site variations and delays against contract, keeping all relevant parties informed and resolving issues whenever possible.
• Write detailed reports and updates for the Project Manager and all interested parties.
• Manage and Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are understood and adhered to at all times.
• Undertake the role and responsibilities of Site Manger as required with particular emphasis on CDM and the supervision of sub-contractors
